The year 2013 was a bit of a watershed year as Google removed the most basic of SEO techniques and guides by ceasing reporting to web site owners exactly which search terms had been typed into a Google Search box to find the web site that Google referred the searcher to.
Confused?
What happened in the past was that when you did a search on Google for Port Elizabeth and clicked from the Google MyPE result to the MyPE site then Google told MyPE that someone searching for Port Elizabeth was sent from Google’s site to MyPE. Now all that happens is that Google says; “Not provided”.
Search Engine Optimisers are still running around like headless chickens wondering how they can prove their relevance to site owners in the absence of this data.
BUT, MyPE can prove it’s relevance to the wider community and potential advertisers by revealing to you what the Top 500 most searched for terms were from people using the MyPE Business Directory search box.
For the year 2013 there were 1 544 627 searches on MyPE and the Top 500 keywords / keyphrases used on the MyPE business directory from 2013-01-01 to 2013-12-31 appear below:
