Last week the head of Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, Mandlakazi Skefile, indicated that most accommodation establishments in Port Elizabeth and immediate surroundings were 95% full.
The Springboks New Zealand clash on Saturday 20 August has been good to Port Elizabeth and, on top of all that, we are one of the few cities in South Africa with dams that are 100% full.
The Guest Houses listed on MyPE are mostly reporting 100% occupancy, our tannies on Budget Accommodation and BnBPE are reporting that they MAY have a couch available and that they are recommending accommodation further afield in Jeffreys Bay, Addo and Kirkwood to people desperate for a bed over this coming weekend.
Aaah, Kirkwood – what a great place that is to stay in over the weekend of the Kirkwood Wildsfees.
And, as luck would have it, there is some accommodation available at Geelhoutboom Guest House – a scant 35 minute drive from the NMB Stadium and which will ideally place you in the right spot to do a bit of game watching in Addo after the Springbok All Blacks clash.
Contact Geelhoutboom for accommodation.
