Momentum 1 Day Cup Final Round Robin Matches

31 October 2013 By Alan Straton

Currently placed 3rd on the Momentum 1 Day Cup log, the Chevrolet Warriors will hope to continue their good form and stay ahead of the pack as they prepare for their final four matches.

The next home match in Port Elizabeth will take place on Friday 1 November against the Bizhub Highveld Lions at Axxess St Georges. The team will then take to the road and play the Dolphins in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday 3 November, the Cobras in Paarl on Wednesday 6 November and their last match will be against the Titans in East London on Friday 8 November.

With the Warriors having lost Colin Ingram and Wayne Parnell to the Proteas squad two new players will be included in the squad for the next 4 matches. Ashwell Prince will re-join the squad and Lundi Mbane who made his debut for the Warriors last season has also received a call-up.

The squad for the next 4 matches is as follows:

  • Davy Jacobs (Captain)
  • Jon-Jon Smuts
  • Christiaan Jonker
  • Luthando Mnyanda
  • Simon Harmer
  • Michael Price
  • Ashwell Prince
  • Ryan Bailey
  • Lundi Mbane
  • Andrew Birch
  • Rusty Theron
  • Aya Gqamane
  • Athi Dyili
  • Basheer Walters

Tickets for the Port Elizabeth match are on sale at the ticket office where students and scholars can purchase a ticket for only R10. All pensioners can present their pensioners card at the ticket office and will be given a complimentary ticket to attend Friday’s match.

@MyPE any danger of you giving the Chevrolet Warriors some coverage?

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
