Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism (NMBT) is proud to announce the launch of its newly upgraded mobile application “Nelson Mandela Bay Travel Guide”, now offering an updated user interface, improved functionality and updated information, providing users with a smooth and easy to use mobile platform, for locals and visitors alike who are eager to explore the Bay.
The upgraded NMB Travel Guide application aims to provide users with an in depth look into Nelson Mandela Bay and all the exciting activities and experiences that lie within it, serving as a constant source of relevant and updated information, such as: Upcoming Events, Things To See and Do, Accommodation, Transport, Business and Emergency Contacts and Free Wi-Fi Spots.

The initiative also seeks to boost the local economy, by exposing and referring users to locally owned businesses such as restaurants, accommodation venues and shopping facilities. The application also comes with a pin point mapping system, which accurately navigates the user to the highlighted destination. Users are now able to communicate directly with a product, through various forms of communications media links (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube & TipAdvisor), as well as share specific points of interest via social media and email.
Commenting on the benefits of the application, Portfolio Chairperson for Economic Development, Tourism & Agriculture, Cllr Andrew Whitfield said: “Through the utilization of technology and keeping with the times, this application not only gives visitors access to unique and exciting experiences in Nelson Mandela Bay, but also stimulates the local economy through the exposure this platform provides to the business owners whose services listed on it.”
The deals offered on the application aim to create loyalty amongst users and add great value to locals who are looking for activities in the city. Deals and special offers also benefit business owners by attracting more feet through their doors, thus stimulating the local economy.
