Metro fails to make headway in probing damning Kabuso report allegations

Failing to take any action against all implicated in the Kabuso Report since 2009 proves once again that we are facing a huge challenge to eliminate corruption, mismanagement and incompetence in our Metro. The MEC withheld the Kabuso report for years, allowing evidential documents to be used during investigations against all those implicated in the Kabuso report to disappear. That is the real reason why not enough evidence could be found to proceed with the Kabuso Report recommendations.

We are trying hard to make sure that the Pikoli report won’t suffer the same fate. We know that the “Audit Department” in the Metro has prepared numerous reports but no action by the Mayor or acting City Managers over the years have resulted in any disciplinary action being taken against anyone implicated in the audit reports. The reason why Roland Williams was reinstated to his position is a clear indication how they stall investigations so that cases end up withdrawn, as was the case with Mr. Williams.

It’s time that we step in and hold these failing officials accountable for the lack of taking actions by protecting their comrades. We will take the Kabuso report further and hold all implicated accountable.
