“Idols is one of South Africa’s largest reality competition. For almost a decade, the South African version of Idols has been one of the country’s biggest television shows and Ford has been proud to be a part of that success,” says Ford Marketing Manager, Gavin Golightly. “For some years now there has been talk of a music video and this year Ford decided to sponsor the production of the two videos in order to ensure they are available immediately after the announcement.”
Finalists Melissa and Khaya have already captured the imagination of the public and felt right at home in front of the camera as they went about shooting the music videos for their new singles, ‘I could spend a life time’ and ‘Move’ respectively. Also making a staring appearance in the productions is Ford’s popular Fiesta, which the winner will drive away in.
The videos were shot at Joburg hotspot, Tokyo Star in Greenside and various hotspots in New Town. Nevermachine, who have worked with star’s like Lira and previous Idols winner Elvis Blue were responsible for directing the videos, which have been generating quite a buzz ahead of the big announcement.
“The end result has been fantastic. Both Melissa and Khaya are consummate professionals, no matter who goes on to win, I have no doubt we will be seeing and hearing a lot more from both of them in the future,” concludes Golightly.
