Meet the Four Political Parties ONLY Contesting in Nelson Mandela Bay during 2021

19 February 2021 By Alan Straton

There are four political parties registered to ONLY contest the upcoming elections in Nelson Mandela Bay in 2021.

These parties are:

  1. AIM – Abantu Integrity Movement
  2. APM – African Power Movement
  3. AD- Alternative Democrats
  4. NA – Northern Alliance

1. Details for ABANTU INTEGRITY MOVEMENT – AIM

  • Twitter: AIM4NMB

The Abantu Integrity Movement (AIM) was formed to address maladministration and corruption in Nelson Mandela Bay in the Eastern Cape.

The party will contest the 2021 Local Government Elections. The IEC registered AIM during December 2020.

Founding member of the movement, Sello Headbush, says; “As you see, our name is Abantu. Firstly, we consider that. Whatever we are doing we are doing it for abantu. Then the integrity movement that is AIM. We are there for the people and we want to do whatever we are doing with integrity to serve the people of the metro.”

“This is an important milestone for us. This means we now have lift-off in our mission to take our metro back from the current crop of inept politicians who have done nothing but cause mayhem at city hall over the past four years. It’s time for those councillors who have presided over a gridlocked administration, a political circus and general chaos as evidenced by the so-called kidnapping of the council speaker, to move on,” said Headbush.

Anti-apartheid activist Mkhuseli Jack’s residents’ movement in Nelson Mandela Bay AIM was established by a group of concerned residents whose focus is on turning the tide against the mismanagement, corruption, self-serving agendas, incompetence and political wrangling.

What residents are saying about AIM:

Samora Odwa: What should people do when our city is collapsing in the hands of the ruling party and the opposition, I’m fully behind khusta Jack, he’s concerned resident of the bay, ANC was was umavuke ngceni

Mandla Tyala: There is nothing confusing when residents decide to form themselves into a Movement to fix what’s wrong in their Metro, which is corruption and maladministration. We live in a city where the Municipality can hardly fix potholes. What is confusing is those people who keep supporting the same corrupt leaders at every election and hoping that things will change. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. That hardly sounds intelligent. Nobody told Ramaphosa to concentrate on his business when he returned to politics to be president of the ANC.

Claire El-Jabi Verdonk: I wonder if perhaps his (Khusta Jack) time in business has given him added perspective on what needs to happen to take this country forward. He left politics to build a future, but I wonder if he is worried that all he has built will evaporate if the current trends continue? Perhaps a former activist with his fresh business acumen is what we need in the Bay.

Wendy Robertson: He has my vote

Abongile Ka Ndukumbana: Was wondering what ever happened to Mkhuseli Jack’s political career cause prior 1994 he was a hot head political activist, post 1994 went into business like most ex activist, My question, is he still in touch with politics, and what does his party tends to do better than all these other break away parties?
