MBDA Double PanoramaThe top image is of the top gallery in the new Mandela Bay Development Agency building in Baakens Valley, Port Elizabeth. The bottom image is of the front of the building taken from St Mary’s cemetery. The MBDA has bought the land above the cemetery (Old St Peter’s Chuch) and is looking to revitalise the area as well.

The Mandela Bay Development Agency moved from their old premises in 106 Park Drive, St. Georges Park to this new facility in November 2015.

The purpose of the MBDA, as charged by the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is to revitalise and rejuvenate the CBD of Port Elizabeth and later in 2007 also Despatch, Uitenhage and other emerging nodes such as Njoli Square etc. Based on its philosophy of “getting basics right” before anything.
