When they sailed into through the Heads into Knysna on 1 July the crew posted this diary entry; ”
We have arrived safely in Knysna, with a friendly welcoming party from the Yacht club. Sailing throughout the night was a little rough, as the high swells caused the boat to rock. Coming into The Heads at Knysna was a little intimidating, with the swell and the waves breaking in front but we stayed on the line and made it in safely. It was quite a sight to see all the houses and cliffs that burned down and then the few that amazingly survived the fires.”
Crew accompanying Boaz skipper Brian Murphy:
- Nico Janse van Rensburg (22) who is a Yacht Master Coastal and holds a PADI Diving Certificate.
- Fiona Scott-Berning (24) who holds Day Skippers, Free Diving and Advanced PADI Diving Certificates.
- Andrew van Zyl (29) who is a Yacht Master Ocean and holds a PADI Instructor Certificate.
- Simone Fick (26) a Marine Mammal Observer and holds a Passive Acoustic Monitor certificate.
