Luvuyo Bangazi – Top 40 Under 40

19 December 2011 By Alan Straton

The Top 40 under 40 is a showcase of local business talent under the age of 40 compiled by the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber (NMBBC).

Luvuyo Bangazi (35), is the Client Service Director and a Partner at Boomtown Strategic Brand Agency. As the best performing Business Manager at his agency from 2006 to 2009, it was only a matter of time before Luvuyo Bangazi would rise to the top as Boomtown’s Client Service Director.

Described by his peers as a class act, Bangazi is currently focused on the expansion of Boomtown’s business in the Eastern Cape and beyond. His Boomtown journey began in 2004, when he was appointed as an account executive. He’s been on an upward trajectory ever since, securing prestigious, high profile accounts for the agency.

Schooled in Queenstown, he attended the then University of Port Elizabeth and served a stint as acting station manager of the campus radio station. “I think my own story could be an inspiration to many young people,” concludes Bangazi, who donates his time and energy to various CSI projects, including pro-bono speaking engagements at educational institutions. “Anything is possible if you put enough work behind your vision.”

The Top 40 Under 40 list, an NMBBC initiative, was compiled from nominations and selected by an independent panel at the NMBBC. The end result is a showcase of talented and ambitious young businesspeople from diverse sectors in Nelson Mandela Bay. From 7 December 2011, MyPE showcases one under 40 achiever a day.

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
