Eastern Province Cricket has congratulated Lutho Sipamla from Grey High School who has been selected to represent the South African U19 squad at the ICC World Cup in Bangladesh from 22 January to 14 February 2016.
Lutho is the only player from Eastern Province to be selected for this prestigious tournament. Sipamla is a right arm fast bowler and has shown tremendous potential with ball in hand.
“We are very proud of Lutho and know that he will do the City and region proud. We look forward to seeing him grow as a cricketer and take his place in future national teams” said Jesse Chellan EPC CEO.
Lutho had a very successful Coca Cola Khaya Majola Cricket Week held in Port Elizabeth in December and the Cubs Week that was recently concluded in Stellenbosch.
“It’s always satisfying when all the effort and hours of dedication you put into your sport brings reward or recognition” said Sipamla.
Sipamla leaves Port Elizabeth on 14 January 2016.
The 17 year-old Sipamla was born on 12 May 1998 in Port Elizabeth. Lutho has turned out for the EP Under-13, EP Under-15, EP Under-19 (whilst still an Under-17 player), South African Invitation XI Under-17 team and the South African Under-19 Squad.
