Leg Two of the Wrangler All-Terrain 4×4 Adventure proceeded from the Woodville Big Tree to Salina’s Restaurant, Wilderness.
The Wilderness lakes originated around 20 000 years ago and the area has been declared a RAMSAR site.
The black water in the rivers and estuaries is as a result of the leaching of tannins from the decaying leaves.
Around 262 bird species call the Wilderness National Park home.
The building housing Salina’s Restaurant was custom-built, in a sensitive dune area without damaging the protected Milkwood trees, and staying true to the ecological sensitivity of the site.
