When The Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment World opened its doors in 2000, a family of Egyptian Geese liked what they saw, and decided to stay. Since then, 34 generations of these colourful Geese have been born at the complex, and a total of 314 goslings have hatched there.
Friday, 30 September 2011 marked the 35th generation to be born at The Boardwalk when thirteen fluffy little goslings made their first appearance in the world.
For Brian Wilkinson, Environmental and Operations Duty Manager at the Boardwalk, the birth of a new generation is always a highly anticipated event, “I view these geese as my children and I get immensely excited when a new generation hatches. They’re as much a part of The Boardwalk as the casino or the lake or any of the other facilities, and I’m also delighted to see that they are obviously unperturbed by the new construction.”
Editor’s Notes: I must admit that I was a bit hesitant to put this up for fear that the geese may form part of a slap up vagrant Christmas lunch – ja I know what YOU are thinking but I HAVE seen my favourite vagrant whip out his smartphone and consult the MyPE Business Directory from time to time.
