On Saturday night 27 May 2017 at about 20:20, four armed males allegedly kicked the front door open of a home in Rarabe Avenue, Kwanobuhle. The suspects demanded the keys of a VW Polo and also took cellphones and laptops and fled from the scene in the vehicle. The homeowner alerted the police and the details of the vehicle were circulated to neighbouring stations. Later the same evening, 27 May 2017, a 33-year-old male was arrested by police members in Kwadwesi, Port Elizabeth, and the vehicle was confiscated.
The 33-year-old suspect was detained on a charge of house robbery and is due to appear in the Kwanobuhle Magistrate’s Court soon. The search for the three outstanding suspects is continuing.
