Kwanobuhle Bids Provincial Commissioner Farewell

The SAPS of Kwanobuhle hosted a glamorous event at Thandu Xolo High School in Kwanobuhle on Friday evening, 18 March, to bid farewell to the Eastern Cape’s outgoing Provincial Commissioner M.S. Landu.

Landu has been in service of the SAPS since 1973. He was appointed Provincial Commissioner of the Eastern Cape in June 2006 and has performed his duties well during these years. “We wish Commissioner Landu and his family a happy and healthy retirement, we know that after all the years of dedicated service to the SAPS he deserves all the rest coming his way”, said Mr Munir Jeeva, director of Afri-Save, who sponsored the event.

The SAPS of Kwanobuhle also made use of the event to present its members with awards for their hard work in Kwanobuhle. There was also the launch of the Afri-Save Official of the Quarter Award. The purpose of this award is to encourage officials to strive for only the best in their work to fight crime. “We are grateful towards business’s like Afri-Save that are always willing to work together with the SAPS to make our community a better place”, said the Station Commander of the Kwanobuhle SAPS, Colonel Malesene Mapena. Afri-Save also sponsored a R1000.00 voucher for a lucky draw to bring some entertainment to the event.

It was a great honour for the officials of Kwanobuhle to be able to host the event and to show appreciation towards the Commissioner for his hard work during his years of service. The successful event was also proof that Kwanobuhle should not be seen as an underdog when it comes to selecting locations to host important events.
