Kia Worlds longest test drive [YouTube]

On Tuesday afternoon 18 October the Port Elizabeth to Jeffreys Bay leg of the world record setting longest test drive set off from the Kia Port Elizabeth dealership on 11 Uitenhage Road.

This is the first time that the public have got to drive the car – details and pricing of which will be released on Friday 21 October 2016.

Comments from fellow test drivers were all of the high standard of the vehicle and all expressed the beating desire to be the eventual winner of the vehicle.

The test drive started in Durban, then travelled up to Johannesburg, Down to Bloemfontein, East London, Port Elizabeth and will finish in Cape Town.

One of the 520 test drivers will get a chance to win a Kia Sportage.

About that Champagne Bottle: When the team arrived in Vanderbijlpark the local Kia Dealer presented each of the team with a bottle of sparkling wine branded with an image of the World’s Longest Test Drive which had been taken from a Google Images Search.

I made a deal with Dave and Hennie on the trip back to Port Elizabeth – if either of them win the Kia Sportage then I get their second hand vehicles and they get the champagne. Fair enough methinks!
