Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University’s annual Study Abroad Expo provides students – current and prospective – with information about the various opportunities for studying abroad.
This expo will be held on Tuesday, 8 March, from 11:00 – 14:00 in the Student Kraal on South Campus.
NMMU has partnership agreements with various higher education institutions abroad including universities from Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Japan, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
NMMU regularly sends both undergraduate and postgraduate students abroad with the majority of these students going to Northern Ireland, Europe and America. They usually study up to six month abroad.
“A diverse group of students are given an opportunity to study overseas and interact with students from different cultures which is a once-in-a-life-time opportunity,” says Ms Terry-Anne Jones, Manager of Internationalisation at Home of the Office for International Education at NMMU.
She says the experience also gives these students a valuable and competitive advantage when they enter the job market.
The application deadline for the first semester of the year, starting in January, is 31 August and for the second semester, starting in August, is 31 March.
