The Top 40 under 40 is a showcase of local business talent under the age of 40 compiled by the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber (NMBBC).
JP Roodt (28), is the Head of Marketing and Stakeholder Relations at the NMMU Business School and boasts the résumé of somebody twice his age. As Head of Marketing and Stakeholder Relations at the NMMU Business School, Roodt has played an integral role in the repositioning of the NMMU Business School as a leader in executive and business education.
This award-winning communication professional was named South Africa’s best PR in Media Liaison at the age of twenty-five, during his tenure as a Senior Associate at premier Public Relations firm, Marcus Brewster, headquartered in Cape Town. Currently working towards a Master’s degree, Roodt joined the NMMU Business School in 2010.
“I am extremely fortunate to work at an organization that has an unwavering commitment to making a critical and valuable contribution to business, commerce, industry, community, and the environment,” says Roodt. “The position allows me to exercise my strategic ability and full creative capacity in promoting the NMMU Business School as a centre of excellence, and a key player in education on the African continent.”

The Top 40 Under 40 list, an NMBBC initiative, was compiled from nominations and selected by an independent panel at the NMBBC. The end result is a showcase of talented and ambitious young businesspeople from diverse sectors in Nelson Mandela Bay. From 7 December 2011, MyPE showcases one under 40 achiever a day.
