Josh Maraney’s Free Library: 143 AI Search Shorts

14 September 2026 By Alan Straton

The question that has nagged at South African marketers all year, namely how to handle search that has spread well beyond Google, now has a free place to turn as the last quarter of 2026 gets underway. The short-video collection from Josh Maraney, who founded Top Click Media, has grown to 765 clips arranged across 72 topics, and 143 of them belong to the artificial intelligence category. AI therefore ranks as the second-biggest subject in the whole collection, trailing only search engine optimisation, a split that mirrors how much of any working marketer’s week now goes to problems that were not even on the table two years ago.

Access costs nothing, no account is required, and everything can be found by keyword. There is no gating, no drip-feed, and no course waiting to be sold at the finish.

What is actually in the library

Each short that Josh Maraney has released lives on one page, automatically filed into topics inferred from the video titles. Those 72 topics gather into nine wider families: SEO, AI, Google Ads, Tools and Gear, Web and E-commerce, Business and Agency, Social Media, Local and Maps, plus a small miscellaneous bucket. A visitor can choose a topic from the sidebar or run a keyword search, and the site nudges people toward search whenever a clip has ended up somewhere odd, because the sorting is done by machine rather than by hand.

You can order results by relevance, by newest, by most watched or by most liked, which is handy when the goal is the latest thinking on something rather than whatever happened to be filmed earliest. Clips play right there on the page instead of kicking the visitor across to another site, so it is possible to work through four or five in a row without losing your spot. Fresh shorts hit the YouTube channel first and show up in the library inside a day.

AI search is now 143 of the 765 clips

The part that is expanding fastest is exactly the one most South African business owners keep raising. Inside the AI family, ChatGPT is the biggest single topic across the entire collection with 49 clips. Claude comes next on 27, AI Tools carries 22, AI Search and AEO holds 19, Gemini has 14, and a smaller AI SEO topic adds another 5. Add those up and you get 143 shorts explaining how the assistants behave, how they choose their sources, and what a business can realistically alter on its own website.

The running argument is that search engine optimisation and answer engine optimisation are one and the same job carried out in two settings. A brand that has built clear, well-organised, quotable pages is usually the one an assistant names when someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity for a suggestion. A brand with thin pages and no steady story about itself is usually skipped by both the ranked listings and the generated reply. The clips tackle this one idea at a time in short pieces rather than through long lectures, which suits people who are already experimenting with the assistants and want a precise answer to a precise problem.

Search engine optimisation remains the biggest group

SEO is still the leading family at 173 clips, and it deals with the unglamorous groundwork that makes AI visibility possible to begin with. Technical SEO accounts for 27 shorts, SEO Myths for 26, Keyword Research for 25, Backlinks for 17 and Local SEO for 16, with smaller topics on on-site SEO, page titles, meta descriptions, topical authority, digital PR, content and blogging, and picking an agency. There is a topic on SEO results and case studies too, and one more that collects clips about Top Click Media and its clients.

Read as a whole, these SEO video tutorials amount to an ongoing commentary on what genuinely shifts rankings, including plenty of clips built entirely to demolish a widespread belief that was never true in the first place. The fact that this myth-busting topic is the second largest in the SEO family says a lot about how much poor advice still circulates in the South African market.

Google Ads gets its own 136 clips

Paid search is handled as a field in its own right instead of a footnote. The Google Ads family contains 136 shorts, headed by 28 general Google Ads clips, then 11 on match types and negatives, 9 on auction insights and competitor research, 8 on auto-apply and Google’s own recommendations, 8 on account audits, 8 on bidding, budgets and cost per click, 7 on Performance Max and 7 on search term reports. Smaller topics take in location targeting, remarketing, shopping ads, display, quality score, placements and exclusions, ad scheduling, account structure and click fraud.

Anyone who has watched an account quietly slide after Google applied one of its own recommendations will understand why that topic is there at all. The clips speak to the person who has to justify the spend, not to someone revising for a certificate.

Short format, no signup, no course funnel

Length is the choice that shapes the whole project. Because these are shorts, every one tackles a single question and then stops. That keeps the library useful in the odd gaps of a working day, and it keeps it truly searchable, because a keyword search hands back a specific answer instead of a ninety-minute recording with the relevant bit buried in the middle.

It strips out the usual obstacles too. No email gate, no trial, no upsell bolted onto the digital marketing videos, and no account to set up before watching anything. For a small business owner who cannot stretch to a training budget, or a junior marketer racing to get ready for a client meeting, that counts for more than slick production.

Why this is useful in September

September is the month when South African businesses begin locking in budgets for the closing quarter and the year to come, and this time round those discussions keep colliding with the same doubts about AI search. Owners are being warned their traffic is about to shift, with little concrete steer on what to actually change come Monday morning. A free, searchable stack of short answers, sorted by topic and refreshed each day, is a sensible spot to test a claim before approving a plan that leans on it.

The library quietly does something else as well, which is to show the work rather than simply claim expertise. Every item is dated, published and searchable, so a would-be client can reach their own conclusion about how a practitioner thinks well before any conversation happens.
