The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Joint Operations Centre was operational from 13h00 on Saturday afternoon as more heavy showers were expected.
Working after hours Municipal spokesperson, Kupido Baron, said; “We also note with concern that barriers were removed from the Third Avenue Dip and the M4 in the vicinity of the North End Prison which inevitably endanger the lives of other motorists as they are not aware that the roads were initially blocked off.
“High water levels are also being experienced at Riverstone Road and in the Kleinskool area.
“Motorists are requested to proceed with extreme caution and adhere to safe following distances as the road surfaces are extremely wet.”
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Service Delivery Centre number is 0800 20 50 50 if residents require the assistance of the Joint Operations Centre.
