Dear MyPE
Today, we welcome former COPE councillor and caucus leader, Rayno Kayser, and former NMB Metro official, John Best, to the DA.
Mr Kayser and Mr Best decided to join the DA after they realised that the future of this Metro lies with the DA in government. They are now both aspirant candidates for the DA in the upcoming local government election.
Mr Kayser and Mr Best bring both political and technical expertise as well as years of experience to the DA. They join a diverse and dynamic DA team that will govern Nelson Mandela Bay after the 2016 local government elections.
Councillor Kayser has served the people of Nelson Mandela Bay with pride and passion for many years. Councillor Kayser is among the best councillors in NMB and he has decided to make the DA his political home so that he can best serve the people of NMB under a DA government.
Mr Best is a former municipal employee who was responsible for the NMBM’s Joint Operations Centre (JOC) which was established to resolve service delivery issues. As an expert in safety and security, Mr Best was a founding member of the NMBM Metro Police project team and will be instrumental to our objective of establishing a Metro Police force in NMB.
In the DA we respect that it is every individual’s right, and even duty, to belong to a political party that truly represents their values. In the DA these values are Freedom, Fairness and Opportunity for all. On these values, we hope to build the future for our country.
More and more people in Nelson Mandela Bay and elsewhere are uniting behind the DA. South Africans are fed-up with Jacob Zuma’s ANC. They are fed-up with rampant corruption, cadre deployment and bad services.
As we prepare to govern in Nelson Mandela Bay, many community leaders are coming home to the DA.
The DA is set on winning Nelson Mandela Bay at this year’s local government election, to usher in a government of intergrity and accountability.
Regards
Andrew Whitfield
