27 February 2015 By Alan Straton

DEDISA
The Dedisa Power Peaking Plant situated at the Coega Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) in Zone 12 will be able to produce 342MW – roughly half of Nelson Mandela Bay’s power requirements.
The Coega Development Corporation (CDC) announced that investor GDF Suez, operator of the DEDISA Power Peaking plant, in the Coega Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) has begun recruitment of skilled and specialist human resources.

CDC, which has been appointed to manage the recruitment and placement of professional skills via Human Capital Solutions (HCS) announced that vacancies are now open for operations and facility management, mechanical and electrical engineering and administrative positions.

“The positions aims to attract and attain professional skills that is vital to contribute to the growth of the economy and increase skills transfer,” said Dr Ayanda Vilakazi, CDC head of marketing and communications.

“CDC has been tasked by the plant to assist with recruitment and placement of workers,” said Duncan Grenfell, CDC unit head for recruitment and placement.

“We encourage interested parties with qualifications and experience in operations management, mechanical and electrical engineering and administrative disciplines to contact nontandazo.makwetu@coega.co.za. The deadline for applications is this Friday, 27 February 2015 at 16:00,” Grenfell said.

CDC in conjunction with the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality uses latest technological developments to recruit labour through the Gateway2Opportunity (G20). This is a Human Capital Information Management System and job seekers are encouraged to visit the CDC’s G2O jobs portal should they wish to apply and for detailed job requirements www.g2o.co.za.

Applicants must follow the steps and provide comprehensive personal details and remember to upload their certificates and ID document.

The DEDISA plant will begin operating in the second half of 2015, consisting of two open-cycle gas turbines (OCGTs) able to produce 342MW.
