The 2015 edition of the Ironman Africa championships in Port Elizabeth got underway in perfect conditions this morning. This year even has attracted the strongest professional field ever competing for the title. Eighty professionals and more than two thousand amateur athletes will tackle the ultra triathlon consisting of a 3.8 kilometre swim, a 180 kilometre cycle leg and a full marathon. There is also a great vibe along the route as Port Elizabeth residents came out in force to cheer the athletes.
