‘It’s because you are YOU!’ says McDonalds manager

We went to McDonalds in Commercial Road Sidwell to get a take-away when we were told to wait in the parking area for them to bring it although there were no other customers.

We then waited in the parking area and in the meantime four other vehicles came through the drive-through and got there orders immediately. All these customers were African. My husband eventually got out of the vehicle and went in and asked them what the problem was and why he hasn’t received his order yet. The African lady that also identified herself as the Manager, said “It’s because you are YOU!” and laughed in his face!!

My husband had his Police uniform on at the time as he was on his way to work before dropping us off at church. She therefore meant he was a white Policeman!! Racism is a crime in this country but it seems that it is okay when an African person uses it. Well this is NOT okay and I am not letting this one go.
