The opposition party in Nelson Mandela Bay, the ANC, delivered a petition to the new government on 1 December citing 13 ‘areas of concern’.
Here Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor Athol Trollip responds to allegations by the opposition that “The Deputy Executive Mayor ridiculed the ANC in all these meetings” and “the victimisation of ANC Councillor Sabani at the Nangoza Jebe Hall meeting.”
Trollip said; “Cllr Sabani has been charged with a Code of Conduct violation and will appear before a review panel of Council.”
On the question of the allegations toward the Deputy Executive Mayor, Trolip was silent.
