‘Immigration Officials’ talk their way into Parsons Hill home

Robbers, posing as immigration officials, led a Pretorius Street, Parsons Hill, homeowner into opening the security gate of his house on Tuesday morning just after 09h00 on Tuesday this week.

Two suspects convinced the homeowner that they were immigration officials and that they needed to verify identification documents to ensure that they were valid. The homeowner, who is not a South African citizen, accepted the suspects’ story and opened the security gate for them. As he was unlocking the security gate, he saw two more suspects approach, and they forced their way into the house. They tied up the owner and ransacked the house. The thugs made off with clothing and laptops and fled in a VW Golf.

The owner notified the Police after the robbers fled and all the necessary emergency personnel were dispatched to investigate.

A case of house robbery was opened for investigation.
