OR have a totally unrealistic expectation of my ability to make a real contribution to our society.
Let’s face it – most people would turn down an a role in a business/organisation that was:
- Combative
- Universally disliked
- Corrupt
- A danger to life and limb
- On the verge of bankruptcy
- Part of huge scandals
- Unable to deliver core products
- Continually on the back foot
- Staffed by unhappy and unmotivated employees
- Subject to conflicting ideals
- Reports to Provincial and National Management
- Dictated to by National Policy
- Forced to give services away
- Unable to respond quickly
- Subject to National service delivery disasters
The list goes on.
BUT – my pea brain says that there must be a solution to the dire situation that we find ourselves in and that solution can only be delivered by short term focussed Ward Councillors who are part of a local focused movement determined to bring pride back to Nelson Mandela Bay and place People Before Politics.
At the end of the day local government should not be rocket science:
- Deliver Services
- Ease the cost and time of doing business
- Make public servants proud again.
It is selfish people who make government rocket science – selfish because they want to remain in charge and feed off of the public purse for as long as possible.
Local Government is a business – let’s vote for people who have a track record in business and public life. Choose those who can show that they are not corrupt, who can show that they have empathy, who can show that they have led a life of service.
