How about a coffee at Coffee for a Cause Cafe – Featured Blog

We all love coffee… or most of us at least.  We all also like to do good. So how do you link doing good with coffee?  That is something being done by Coffee for a Cause at the Boardwalk.  Coffee for a Cause have gained a lot of popularity at the Valley Market and have partnered with the Boardwalk over the festive season and opened a specialist coffee shop near the Hobie Beach entrance to the complex.  All the profits made by the coffee shop is used for social upliftment through Red Band Barista Academy.  The Academy trains previously disadvantaged youths in the skill of coffee pouring and latte art and since starting up have trained 70 new baristas with most of them finding employment at local coffee shops.  I popped in for a cappuccino this morning and believe me, these guys know what they are doing.  If  you feel it’s too hot for coffee, why not try their iced coffee or coffee in a cone.  You won’t be sorry plus you’ll be supporting a good cause.  

This morning I had to have a wheel alignment done on my car at one of the tyre places behind Greenacres.  While they were busy I took a stroll around and noticed the Greenacres Presbyterian Church (previously known as St Columbu’s) across the road.  Not really a church like the historic ones around town that you see a lot of pictures of, but I decided to snap a pic of it with morning traffic passing by to share with you.
