Hennie Odendaal says: Born in 1957 in Kroonstad – Free State in South Africa, I studied Mechanical Engineering (Artisan) and management and worked in this field for many years before engaging full time in my passion for Artistic Woodturning & Sculpture (I specialize in artistic expression through woodturning and sculpture in wood, with a focus on the high quality of materials and fine artistic finish).

Since completing the formal training as a woodturner, I have exhibited extensively in South Africa, in solo and group exhibitions, and have won numerous awards in the field, most recently in the AWSA “Spirit of Africa” competition in September 2019 and the “PEWG Year-End” Competition (certain categories) in October 2019.

My work has been recently exhibited at the NMM Museum in Port Elizabeth. I have also exhibited at the ArtEC Gallery and their Annual Exhibitions in the past, and the PE Art Meander.

Hennie is also skilled in: Creative Gardening, Crafts, Metal Art, Music and Murals
