ANC Youth League president Collen Malatji recently said that the present R350 social grant should be increased to R1 500. Malatji also said that unemployed graduates should also be given a monthly grant of R4 500.
This on the back of Government warnings of running out of money.
This on the back of Government redressing the racial imbalance of the past.
This on the back of Government’s extremely poor track record at attarcting investment and long term jobs.
This on the back of Government eroding the Middle Class to such an extent that tax collections are under huge pressure.
This on the back of a continued brain drain.
This on the back of a wholesale sale to foreign interests of raw minerals and with land probably up next.
This on Goverments continued corruption and mismanagement.
So, is Malatji really saying that he does not trust the Government to create a stable, vibrant, job creation market so our youth and vulnerable citizens must then be subjected to a handout, a tip after all those promises of a “Better life for all” and “Jobs for all” and, and, and….
It would appear that Malatji was absent the day and entire year of his Economics 101 lecture.
