Grand Opening at Moffet on Main within the environmental and nuisance laws

11 March 2014 By Alan Straton

Dear Editor

There have been a number of incorrect stories making the rounds with regard to the planned 19 March grand opening of Galaxy Bingo at Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre.

The Galaxy Bingo Gaming and Entertainment will be opening their doors to the public at Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre on Wednesday, 19 March at 9:00 pm with a fireworks display for approximately ten minutes.

Noise will be generated, however Galaxy Bingo have been restricted in terms of both height and velocity so as to minimise the impact on the surrounding area. The fireworks used for the opening of Galaxy Bingo will only reache a limited height in comparison with the fireworks by the fireworks used by the organisers of the Opening of the Season. The appointed pyrotechnic has ensured the safety of the surrounding community. As we are vested in the community surrounding the mall we approached the planning of this event with kid gloves.

We have approached the relevant authorities and role players including the SAPS Explosives Unit, Echo Foundation, Traffic Department and Fire Department. We have and shall adhere to all restrictions imposed and have gone so far as exploring the procurement of veterinary services and funding to the SPCA in order to mitigate any effects which may arise.

Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre and Galaxy Bingo Gaming and Entertainment have complied in all material aspects of the said bylaws. For more information the public may contact myself Charne Blume, the PR and Marketing Coordinator of the Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre.

Regards
