The July 2023 WESSA Algoa Bay Branch beach clean-up will be part of a Metro-wide clean-up effort by various organisations manning many “spots” throughout NMB, to celebrate Mandela Week (17 – 23 July).

WESSA’s clean-up will be in Summerstrand starting at the Beacon at the intersection of Marine Drive and Admiralty Way, on Saturday 22 July 2023 from 09:30 to 10:37 (67 minutes). For many reasons this stretch of coastline has a serious litter problem and needs regular and ongoing clean-ups. We are hoping that by concentrating on this spot, we can stop as much of this litter as possible from finding its way into the sea.

There is ample parking at the Beacon and as usual please bring hats, sunscreen, water and gloves if possible. We will provide litter bags.
