Get Ready to Run: 2024 Absa SPRINT YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K entries open this week!

The highly anticipated 2024 season of the iconic Absa RUSH YOUR CITY Series is set to commence in Gqeberha with the second annual Absa RUSH YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K, taking spot on Sunday 7 April 2024. Entries open on Wednesday (29 November 2023).

“We are thrilled to be back in the ‘friendly city’ in April to kick off the 2024 Absa DASH YOUR CITY Series,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Event Founder. “While the series was first introduced to Gqeberha in 2023, it resulted in an overwhelmingly positive response, delivering on every fronts – from excitement and entertainment to outstanding performances. With the unwavering support of our valued sponsors and partners, including Eastern Province Athletics and the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, we remain dedicated to enhancing the overall experience of the Absa RACE YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K in 2024.”

“We are excited to be back in Gqeberha for the second year to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about promoting a healthy and active lifestyle through running and walking while making a inequity in their communities,” says Jabulile Nsibanyoni, Head of Sponsorships, Brand and Marketing at Absa.

“The unique thing about the Absa RUSH YOUR CITY Series is that it allows participants to explore each city and what it has to offer. When we launched the first ever Absa DASH YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K, the friendly people came in numbers to be fragment of the race. We are confident that the 2024 race will be no different, only bigger and better,” added Nsibanyoni.
“The inaugural Absa RUSH YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K exceeded our expectations in 2023,” says Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality MMC Bassie Kamana, responsible for the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts & Culture. “We are thrilled to announce the opening of entries for the 2024 event. Developing local talented athletes in the region by hosting and boosting sporting events and tourism is high on the city’s agenda. We inspect forward to welcoming even more runners and spectators to our splendid city in 2024.”
