Geraldine Mononym & Monologue

21 July 2024 By Port Elizabethan

Dear Editor

Faith & Hope … that is my Woolhope Secondary School alma mater’s motto … wherein I was the 1996 Deputy Head Boy … hence the proverbial fuel that is mostly driving my expansionary ideas, madam Geraldine, or whoever is behind the seemingly debate-loving writer’s mononym [The Herald 18 July 2024]. It is therefore not in me to think in terms of Afro-pessimism and/or the negative South African Socio-economic situation when formulating my ideas at all.

A letter-of-response I received from the Ferrari headquarters in Italy regarding my advocacy for a secondary Ferrari World Theme Park to include the current Aldo Scribante Race Track within the Coega Special Economic Zone [SEZ] is a case study of my faith and hope when addressing concepts and/or ideas. Letters-Of-Response and e-mails coming from the likes of Caterpillar headquarters from Peoria [in the USA], Michelin tyres of France, Allianz insurance company from Germany and even Santander bank of Spain calling me from their London regional headquarters acknowledging the receiving of my letter; let alone the super rich Mubadala development agency of the United Arab Emirates [UAE] responding about the logic of having a lucrative partnership with their Coega Development Corporation [CDC] counterpart.

The long and short of it, Madame Geraldine, I am not a CODESA Posterboy … meaning … an ANC Anointee and/or South African White Capital Approved Individual … and therefore stopped about 10 Years ago to share my ideas with our covertly oppressive Governing Cartel, apparently originating and gelling together around 1993 or so of the Convention for a Democratic South Africa {CODESA} Directives & Resolutions, that is the nowadays’ watered-down medium called the Government of National Unity [GNU].

Since I am aware of the Chinese axiom very well that goes like: “When pointing at the moon, the fool looks at the finger”, I thereby appreciate and am paying homage to your apparent playing of the Devils Advocate … Miss Geraldine … in assessing if the spinning & drifting advocacy is not just another hare-brained scheme of a Clout, Fame and/or Relevance seeker.

Regards
