Dear Editor
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Eastern Cape welcomes Fezeka Mbiko as our newest Member of the National Assembly, after she was sworn in yesterday.
Fezeka will fill the vacancy left by Renaldo Gouws and has been appointed as the DA’s Phesheya Kwenciba Constituency Leader – an area which includes towns such as Butterworth, Elliotdale, Willovale, Dutywa, Qumrha, Chintsa and Key Mouth.
Born and raised in Dutywa – and currently based in Gwadana, Dutywa in the Mbhashe Local Municipality – Fezeka is passionate about serving the people of the Eastern Cape.
She spent three decades working for the Eastern Cape Development Corporation, focusing on attracting investors to the Eastern Cape, particularly in Butterworth.
Her dedication to her community is evident through her fundraising efforts for various projects and her work assisting rural communities in developing their land and maximising its agricultural potential.
From 2011 to 2016, Fezeka served as a Proportional Representative councillor in Dutywa and was a Member of the Bhisho Legislature in 2019.
Throughout her many years with the DA she has also always remained a dedicated and hard-working activist.
The DA has full confidence in Fezeka, and I am confident that she will remain true to the oath she has taken and will serve the people of this province and the country to the best of her ability.
Regards
Andrew Whitfield MP
DA Eastern Cape Provincial Leader
