DELPORTSHOOP – The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit held an event in Delportshoop as part of the closing of the 16 Days of activism for no violence against women and children campaign.
Today, at 10am, the elderly were informed about the duties of the FCS unit and how this service can work as an advantage for them.
Lt Col Marli Strydom, the Unit Commander of Galeshewe FCS, explained the Sexual Offences Act as well as the Old Persons Act to the attendees and women were urged not to withdraw cases.
Warrant Officer Masao, Sergeant Moilwa, Sergeant Botha, Constable Fortuin and Constable Matlhale also responded to questions and concerns raised by the men and women in the audience.
The FCS Unit members treated the elderly with food and gifts.
The outreach was done under the theme for 2021: “The year of Charlotte Mannya Maxeke – 16 Days of activism – moving from awareness to accountability”
