Faye Gatley to Premiere “Ndithanda Wena” music video

3 April 2012 By Alan Straton

Hard working, talented and with a plan. Faye Gately is steadily ticking off all the ‘must haves’ on her way to success. This time around Faye will be presenting her music video premiere for Ndithanda wena (I like you), the third single from the album The Way I Play.

Local pop-rock singer/songwriter Faye Gatley will premiere her music video on 25 April at popular Port Elizabeth hotspot The Music Kitchen. Ndithanda wena is an original South African love song containing the three languages with which she grew up with, namely English, Afrikaans and Xhosa.

Shot in the picturesque Eastern Cape town of Steytlerville, the music video was directed and filmed by Roelof Bezuidenhout and produced by Chris Fourie. Showing off the untouched beauty of the Karoo, Faye Gately wanted her first music video to be an introduction of herself as a South African artist both nationally and internationally.

Faye Gatley’s original song: I don’t wanna fight (featuring Bryan Mclagan) has proved to be very popular on Eastern Cape radio stations and is making an impact outside of the province by climbing the Top 40 chart on Stellenbosch radio station MFM.

Later this year, Xbox 360 gamers can look forward to playing along to her original song Don’t, which will be featured on an X-box 360 game entitled A-Band.

At the video launch for Ndithanda wena, Faye Gatley will be joined by Huis Najaar’s Hugo Kleinhans and Eastern Cape Philharmonic violist, Liska du Preez.

Audience members can also look forward to South African Jazz vocalist, Anda Masala who will be opening the show.

The show starts at 8:00 pm, with doors opening at 7:00 pm. Restaurant and cash bar will be available. Tickets are R60 and booking is essential.

For bookings, contact Faye Gately or Sharon on 084 357 4024.
