Faye Gatley to Launch Debut Album in PE

22 November 2011 By Alan Straton

The captivating and talented independent singer/songwriter Faye Gatley invites listeners to discover and share her debut album. Faye is a local artist from Port Elizabeth, whose music is inspired by real life situations, emotions and occurrences. Her unique soft pop sound is proudly South African and communicates a strong thought-provoking message.

In 2009, Faye started recording her first album entitled The Way I Play consisting of 11 original, self-composed tracks. In December 2010 the first single from her debut album entitled “Dear Santa” was well received by local audiences and was play-listed on several radio stations across South Africa over the festive season.

2011 saw her original song entitled Don’t being selected to feature on an upcoming Xbox 360 game called A-Band, which is set to be released later this year, in several countries including the UK, France and Spain.

Her latest track entitled I Don’t Wanna Fight features Bryan Mclagan, frontman of the band Don’t Panic and has recently been playlisted on Algoa FM. Bryan Mclagan will be joining her as a special guest performer at the event.

Faye will be launching her debut album The Way I Play to local Port Elizabethan audiences at the Music Kitchen (Toni’s Place) on Tuesday 29 November.

Opening for Gatley will be another exciting and talented PE music artist Stuart Reece and his band. Tickets for this exclusive launch are R30 and can be pre-booked by email via Faye Gatley, alternatively tickets will be sold at the door. Doors open at 7 pm.

Faye Gatley has an illustrious history of treading the boards of the Savoy and other local entertainment venues with appearances in Oklahoma!, Footloose, Crazy in Love, Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood to name a few.
