Underwater photographers entering the Chevrolet Ocean Messengers Algoa Bay heritage photo competition are spoiled for choice for the next few days.
They will have plenty of opportunities to dive on some of the Bay’s best sites during the Noordhoek Dive Fest, which takes place this weekend, June 16 to June 19.
The judges are looking for photos of underwater landscapes, animals, plants and scenes, says Rainer Schimpf of Ocean Messengers.
First prize for the winning underwater photo is a R50 000 “Zero to Hero” dive course to Instructor level sponsored by Scuba Schools International.
The other categories in the competition are SLR (max nine megapixel), Open (minimum 10 megapixel) and Under Water (unlimited). First, second and third prizes will be awarded in each category.
Any pictures of Algoa Bay and the neighbouring coastline, their marine animals, landscapes, habitats, people, heritage sites and underwater scenes or animals can be submitted.
All participants with valid drivers licences stand the chance of driving the new Chevrolet Captiva car for a year!
Entry forms can be obtained by visiting www.katz.co.za and www.ocean-messengers.com.
