Am Anfang war es eine spontane Idee: Wenn die WM schon so weit weg von Deutschland stattfindet, dann können die Deutschen doch Kindern in Walmer Township in Gqeberha die Tickets spendieren. Also schrieben die Mitarbeiter von Masifunde ihre Freunde und Familien an – und innerhalb von zehn Stunden hatten sie 190 Tickets beisammen, unter anderem für das Spiel Deutschland gegen Serbien. Es konnte ja keiner ahnen, dass ausgerechnet in dieser Partie alles schief ging, was schiefgehen konnte.
