Eschew the Shoes

30 March 2011 By Alan Straton

Girl band, The Arrows will be live in Port Elizabeth on International Barefoot Day, Tuesday, 5 April, for ONE NIGHT ONLY at Fathers House Family Church in Stanley Street, Richmond Hill.

Concert goers are requested to come barefoot and bring a pair of children’s shoes to the concert.

This is in aid of the organizations TOMS Shoes and Zanethemba who will distribute the shoes to less fortunate children in Nelson Mandela Bay.

Nelson Mandela Bay’s Lifestyle radio station, Kingfisher FM‘s, Progamme Manager, Clair Arthur, says she’s going barefoot on the 5th of April to support the Barefoot Day Campaign.

“I’m going without so kids don’t have to. Here at Kingfisher FM we are all about strengthening our community and that is why we support the One Day Without Shoes Campaign.

“We hope to have the entire Nelson Mandela Bay behind us as we help to raise awareness,” said Arthur.

The 2010 Do You Rock? Winners, 3 Flights Up, will be the supporting act for The Arrows.

Tickets are available from computicket at R100 for adults and R60 for children under 12.
