Despite their wariness about the Park challenge, PE SAPS stretched their unbeaten record to four matches when they defeated their old rivals 37-5 in the EP Grand Challenge on Saturday, 9 May.
Park opened the scoring with an unconverted try in the early stages, but thereafter the policemen took over to eventually win fairly comfortably, maintaining their position as the main challengers to logleaders Despatch.
Despatch shrugged off the away challenge offered by Kruisfontein to confirm their dominance with a 61-22 win in Humansdorp, while NMMU Madibaz got back on to the winning track with a 33-10 win over the Brumbies in Grahamstown.
Other results were: Spring Rose bt Crusaders 26-10, Trying Stars bt Progress 39-15, Harlequins led Windvogel 14-5 (match stopped with eight minutes remaining due to fisticuffs).
