Endurade Winter Series Triathlon

Up and coming triathlete Byron Brockhurst will be looking to do well at Sunday’s sprint distance triathlon

A much anticipated winter beach Series has been established and will take place at Something Good, Pollok Beach on the first Sunday of the Month during June, July, August and September this year. The Endurade Winter Series Triathlon offers no fewer than 7 events, each taking place at the same time, and these include a Sprint Distance Triathlon (750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km Run), Sprint Distance Duathlon (2.5km run, 20km cycle, 5km Run), Mini Duathlon (1.25km,10km cycle, 2.5km), Kids Duathlon (1.25km run, 5km cycle, 1.25km run), 750m Ocean Swim, 5km Fun Run, 1.25km Fun Run for kids.

The Mini Duathlon is for participants 12 years whilst the Kids Duathlon is for participants 8 years and over. The Series starts this Sunday morning with the swim leg taking place at Pollok Beach and  starting at 10am. Pre-registration is necessary and all registered participants are to report for entry by 9am on Sunday morning behind the Something Good roadhouse where the transition area will be setup alongside the roadhouses kids zone.

This is a new event to the Nelson Mandela Bay calendar and follows from the highly successful family Ocean Racing Series event which takes place on alternate Sunday mornings during Summer. The Winter Series is sponsored by Nutritech and supported by Caltex Eastern Cape, Dynamic Express Services and Oracle Media. All category winners will receive Nutritech hampers whilst great overall Series prizes and medals will be up for grabs at the end of the Series with points being accumulated from each of the 4 races in 2016.

Online registration (credit card and EFT) and further information available on the website www.zsports.co.za/WinterSeries. Registration will close on Friday at 12 noon.
