Eastern Province vs Namibia

The Eastern Province Senior Provincial Team take on Namibia in their next CSA Provincial 3 day match and One Day match of the 2013/2014 season. The 3 day match will take place from Thursday, 12th December to Saturday, 14th December at the Union Cricket Club. The 1 day match has been moved to Monday, 16th December out of respect to Madiba, this match will take place at Axxess St George. EP Team Coach, Christo Esau said “As a team we realize that we have lost an icon in South Africa and want to show our respect to Madiba by not playing any cricket on the day of his funeral. He has been an inspiration to many in our land.”

“Our team’s performance thus far has been of a very high standard and we are looking to get ourselves back to the top of the three day table. We realize that we let ourselves down against Northerns and we are keen to get back to winning ways.”

The Eastern Province Selectors today announced the squad as follows:

Eddie Moore, Michael Price, Jon Jon Smuts, Colin Ackermann , James Price, Kelly Smuts, Lee-Roy Walters, Warren Bell, Sisanda Magala, Siviwe Gidana, Tladi Bokako, Lionel Vaaltyn and Akhona Kula. Coach: Christo Esau
