East London’s Lee Gold Music invests in Nelson Mandela Bay:

When owner and founder, Leon Goldblum, started trading as Lee Gold Music in East London more than 3 decades ago, the thought of a Shop in PE never once crossed his mind. Originally performing under the stage name: Lee Gold, he was a well-known and respected Jazz Pianist who also played the trombone in a military band, the Clarinet in an Orchestra and the Bagpipes in the Caledonian Society Band.
Thirty-two years later, Lee Gold Music is investing in the community of Nelson Mandela Bay by opening a new branch at 59 Heugh Road, Walmer, Port Elizabeth.

“The beauty about music, is that it connects people. We’ve been coming to Port Elizabeth and actively connecting with musicians, music teachers, parents and schools from all over Nelson Mandela Bay for many years now,” says owner and founder, Leon Goldblum.

The East London family-owned business has in fact been coming to the city for the past 25 years with their annual expo showcasing the diverse musical offerings they have available. It has become an annual experiential event that people look forward to and are always pleasantly surprised by. Lee Gold’s customers have been kept in touch with their product demonstrations and stayed up to date with the latest technology and trends.

“My team and I have been servicing our Nelson Mandela Bay customer base from East London for years now. In fact we service customers from all over South Africa. But PE is a special place and we really enjoy the passion for music and the sense of community we have found here. We’ve been contemplating a Lee Gold Music store for a while now and finally the time has come for us to open a branch for our loyal, local customer base ,” says Lee Gold Music’s managing director, Simeon Goldblum.

Like its head office in Old Transkei Road, Nahoon, East London, the PE based store will offer a wide variety of musical instruments, studio equipment, books and PA systems from some of the top brands in the business. They cater for everyone from the beginner to the professional and cover a wide selection of instruments from pianos to keyboards, brass, woodwind, strings and percussion as well as acoustic and electric guitars, effects and amplification, in fact, all things musical.

“Our Commitment is to sell good, reliable equipment at a competitive price with excellent after-sales service and to build lasting relationships with our people. We are offering a PE store for PE people, run by PE people. Like our Slogan promises: Everything sold, backed by Gold and a friendship that lasts forever,” adds Simeon Goldblum.

The official opening was a 3-day celebration commencing Thursday the 8th of March.
