In the Eastern Cape, fires have destroyed more than 20 thousand hectares of land. Farmers in Jamestown, Burgersdorp, Molteno, Floukraal and Dordrecht have been affected. It’s believed the fire was started by lightning in the Burgersdorp area, which has been brought under control.
