Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (HAWKS)
MPUMALANGA – A 33-year-old suspect is expected to appear before the Nelspruit Magistrate Court on Friday 17 December 2021, after he was arrested by members of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation Mpumalanga.
The arrest came after a Crime Intelligence led information about the vehicle that was transporting dagga was followed. Members stopped and searched a white Toyota Hilux at Karino Emkhatsini filling station.
During the search, nine bags of compressed dagga weighing 155.58 kg with a street value of R155 000-00 was recovered. The suspect was immediately arrested, charged and detained pending his court appearance on Friday.
