Dr Jeff Govender, a General Practitioner (GP), is known in Gelvandale as a go-to man to fix any problem. He has brought primary healthcare to the doorsteps of many residents of Gelvandale, Port Elizabeth, making it accessible.
Through Famhealth, a healthcare and community upliftment centre he founded, Govender is putting together an army of leaders of all ages to squash the scourge of drugs, alcohol abuse and gangsterism that is ravaging Gelvandale.
He tells the moving stories of a community that needed him and inspired him to make the ordinary extraordinary.
