The Nirvana Performing Arts Circle is proud to announce their latest project, Divine Shapes, in celebration of their 25th anniversary. As part of the project, dance performing artist, Manesh Maharaj will share his extensive knowledge and appreciation of Indian Fine Art during a public talk at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum, 1 Park Drive Central, Port Elizabeth on Friday 03 August 2012 from 19:00 – 20:00.
Nirvana Performing Arts Circle, working in collaboration with the Art Museum for this event, aims to promote Indian Fine Art to the broader community in the spirit of building cross-cultural understanding and interest.
Maharaj will be talking about the Indian miniature paintings on display which form part of the Art Museum’s latest exhibition, Melting Pot. He will also talk about the Indian Classical art forms and the Indian architecture and sculpture on which his dance production, Divine Shapes is based. This production will be staged by Maharaj at Savoy Theatre on Saturday 04 August at 19:00.
