Deputy Ministers Collaborate To Conduct a Joint Post-SoNA Information Seminar and Youth Career Expo at Coffee Bay, Eastern Cape

Deputy Ministers Collaborate To Conduct a Joint Post-SoNA Information Seminar and Youth Career Expo at Coffee Bay, Eastern Cape:

The Deputy Ministers of Communications, Public Enterprises, Labour, Tourism and Eastern Cape MEC for Rural Development and Agrarian Reform; accompanied by the Deputy Ministers of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Transport and Water and Sanitation; will conduct a joint Post-SoNA Information Seminar and Youth Career EXPO in Coffee Bay, Eastern Cape.

The two-day programme, which is an integral part of the establishment of Coffee Bay into a town; will take place on the 3rd and 4th March 2017.

Conducted on the heels of the President’s State of the Nation Address, post-SoNA information seminars enable government to engage with South Africans in every corner of the country and reflect on service delivery, plans, milestones and challenges faced by communities.

In the same breadth, the Youth Career EXPO will:

  •            Provide access to information opportunities and funding mechanisms available for youth in business.
  •            Showcase learnership and career opportunities available in government, State Owned Entities (SOEs) and Private Partners.
  •            Communicate the bursary opportunities available in government, SOEs and Private Partners.
  •            Engage with the youth about pertinent issues which affect them on a daily basis, providing support mechanisms and a platform for further dialogue.
  •            Assist young people to develop their CVs, business plans and proposals.
  •            Assist young people to apply for tertiary admission and submit funding requirements.
  •            Enhance understanding and awareness of the value of tourism and its opportunities.
  •            Develop and grow tourism enterprises.
  •            To advance employment opportunities by implementing tourism projects.

PART ONE: SUMMIT AND YOUTH CAREER EXPO

Venue: Coffee Bay (near White Clay Beach)

PART TWO: IMBIZO AND POST-SoNA INFORMATION SEMINAR

Date: Saturday, 4 March 2017
Time: 09h00 – 14h30
Venue: Coffee Bay (near White Clay Beach)
